All of us journeyed to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania with Troop 109. We drove to Gettysburg on June 11. We camped in the McMillan Woods Youth Campground and hiked the Gettysburg Heritage Trail. The scouts enjoyed recreating Pickett's Charge! Most of the hiking was in open areas, but one of our trips went through a wooded area and we had to ford a stream. We stayed until June 14, and then returned home.
April 2004
Troop 109 visited the National Museum of the United States Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. We drove to Dayton, Ohio on April 23 and returned home on April 25. There is a campground for scout groups on the base, which we were allowed to use. It was fun, but VERY noisy! We were awakened by jets taking off each morning.
